East Tennessee > Tennesseefree.com

Glen Dean has started a new group blog at TennesseeFree.com.

Glen invited me to blog there. I thanked him for the offer, but explained that I had to decline.

Frankly, I'm not sure I believe in the idea of group blogs anymore. Occasionally I still post something over at Micheal Silence's place if I think it's something of local (Knoxville, TN) interest that deserves more attention and isn't controversial. Even if I do express an opinion that Micheal doesn't necessarily agree with, he's shown over the years that he's tolerant of other viewpoints.

For the most part, though, I'd rather just post on my own personal blog and avoid the headaches of communal property. On my own blog I can say whatever I want without ruffling feathers or being censored.

Did you tell him you weren't liberal?

Unless I'm badly misreading him, Glen isn't a liberal.

It's the 'tragedy of the commons' acted out with zeros and ones. ;)

You make entirely too much sense. I'd hate to think you were self censuring your viewpoints because you wanted to stay in the "community".

Mike, I'll say anything on my own blog, but considering some past experiences I'd rather just avoid the internal politics of the whole group blog scene.
