Photos > Photo Class Field Trip to Downtown Knoxville

I haven't blogged about my photography class. We had our first field trip on Saturday morning. I took over 300 pictures and boy is my index finger tired. Here's the highlight reel.

I learned tons about photography in that one morning. I'm starting to get the hang of proper exposure.

One lesson I took to heart when I got home is that practically every picture looks better after a little judicious cropping.

LATER: Added more pics.

LATER2: You can see slides from the entire class here with the instructor's narration and his recommended changes with before and after photos. That second photo showing the Knoxville Convention Center is a cool composition. Lots of good field trip pics by Randy Sartin here.

What?! I don't see the John Duncan Federal Building in any of your pictures! You took a group of photographers downtown and didn't get the John Duncan Federal Building?! See also photographers' rights and The Photographer’s Bill of Rights. But I'm sure your class has covered those.

We took lots of pics of the federal buildings. Nothing happened on this trip, but, yeah, apparently security guards have come out of the Fed building in previous years to try to shoo people away.

All outstanding pics. Sharp and great compositions, especially of Rebecca.

Thanks, Fletch. That means a lot coming from someone with your photographic accomplishments.

Doug: I added a fed building shot. It's the last picture, with the sunsphere showing through the corner.
